June 30

We woke up this morning to snow covered mountains and roofs.

After having the opportunity to walk around town we climbed aboard another train and headed for Zurich

After riding a total of 26 trains - I think - we arrived in Zurich and checked into our hotel to get ready for the trip home tomorrow.  However, I will be heading to Dresden to pick up the Luther's Saxony group and spend another 2 weeks on tour.  If you would like to follow us on that trip the address is owoectls2017.blogspot.com.  That is LS for Luther's Saxony.  See you on the next blog

June 29  This morning we loaded up and headed from St Moritz to Torino Italy.  The scenery in Switzerland is breath taking.

After having Italian pizza for lunch the women went window shopping and in search of gelato while the guys went to the basilica and in search of a beer.  We then headed back to St. Moritz.

June 28  This morning we left Zermat and hopped on the Glacier Express for a very scenic trip to St Moritz.  Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and it rained most of the day.

Although this was the most scenic part of the trip the pictures turned out with a few raindrops.  Some of us just sat back and enjoyed the ride.

June 27

This morning we took the cog railroad up to Gornergrat to see the Matterhorn.  Unfortunately it has been socked in all day with clouds, but I have a shot of what it is supposed to look like.

We spent a little time up there to take pictures and then returned to Zermatt to shop or do what ever we want.  Jack, Pam & I stopped for soup.  I had the best lobster bisque and a salad.  I have decided I am getting very tired of the wonderful bread they have here.

June 26

Today we went from Lausanne to Montreux and we had a couple of hours to see the town.  We found a statue of Freddie Mercury of the band Queen and I guess he was kind of a big deal in Montreux.

We met back at the train station to go on our excursion to Chillion Castle. The first fortress was built in the 9th century.

I didn't expect to see Magnolia trees in Switzerland, but this is called the Swiss Riviera.

We returned to Lausanne via boat

and then caught a train to Zermatt.

We arrived in time to check in and have dinner and then to bed.

June 25

Today we traveled from Luzerne to Lausanne with a stop in Interlaken.  We took a cable car up to Harder Kulm where we had a great view of the Jungfrau region.

This s the view of Dave we saw the most

We then headed for Lausanne.  I think we were on 4 to 5 trains today.  We have hit a total so far of about 15 trains for this trip.

June 24  We had to be up and have our bags in the lobby by 7:15.  At 8:30 we loaded onto the coach  for our short trip to the train station.  We now have a group of 31 people and take over about a whole car.  The trip today is only 45 minutes to Luzerne.  We walked to our hotel, the Ibis Styles with their tiny rooms, and left some of our carry on luggage.  Then onto a short walking tour before our boat ride.

We won't get into our rooms until 2:00 so we went on a cruise on Lake Luzerne

and then to lunch for some pizza. In our walk around the town we found a lot going on in the streets since there is some kind of Lucerne festival going on.  The streets will be rocking tonight with the early start they have all had.

We then went and checked into our hotel.  Dianne went out to do some more power shopping and I decided to stay here and catch up on our blog.  However, our suit cases have not have not caught up with us yet and I have no cords to take the pics off the cameras.  I guess I wait to finish these.  Our bags finally arrived so I can finish this up for today.  This evening we will be going to a traditional Swiss dinner and a show.  That means fondue and Rossti.

Jack tried his hand at the Alpine Horn
